OpenCage

OpenCage is a geocoding and geosearch service that converts coordinates to and from places worldwide. It is self-funded and profitable, with no external investors. The company is based in Berlin, Germany, and is a corporate member of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. OpenCage offers a geocoding API with a free trial of 2,500 requests per day and provides SDKs for over 40 languages and frameworks.

OpenCage started in 2013 as a project within a London-based company called Lokku Ltd. Lokku's primary product was Nestoria, a real estate search engine. In building Nestoria, first for the UK and then for 9 other markets, they learned a lot about the challenges of geocoding data from around the world. They also implemented the first ever commercial use of OpenStreetMap.
