Facebook cartoon controversy
NRK received substantial criticism after a cartoon published on its Facebook page used an offensive term associated with Jews and depicted an Orthodox Jewish participant in a Scrabble scene. The broadcaster denied that the cartoon was antisemitic, but removed the accompanying instruction to tag a Jewish person. The controversy followed an earlier NRK apology for a 2016 cartoon that spoofed the Holocaust.
