Nova Scotia Power was under scrutiny once again, with the Nova Scotia Energy Board looking at everything from employee cybersecurity training and data retained before the 2025 cyberattack to the credit protection offered to customers after the fact.
Tuesday marked the first day of a hearing looking at the utility’s actions before, during and after the cyberattack that affected hundreds of thousands of past and current customers.
The utility’s system was breached around March 19, 2025, and was discovered by Nova Scotia Power on April 25.
