Food-safety dispute over selected spice powders
Kerala’s food safety commissioner banned the manufacture, sale, and distribution of Nirapara chilli, turmeric, and coriander powders after reporting added starch in samples. The Kerala High Court later set aside the ban after the samples were not found harmful for human consumption.
