MapleStory randomized-item enforcement
South Korean authorities found that Nexon had failed to provide accurate or sufficiently transparent information about probabilities for MapleStory Cube items. The matter resulted in regulatory penalties and a consumer-compensation process affecting a large group of players.

P3 and Dark and Darker litigation
Nexon alleged that former employees and Ironmace improperly used files and ideas connected with Nexon’s cancelled P3 project in Dark and Darker. Police searched Ironmace’s offices in South Korea, and Nexon filed a United States copyright case. The U.S. case was dismissed in August 2023.

Sudden Attack probability disclosure penalty
Nexon Korea was fined after regulators determined that information about randomized paid items in Sudden Attack gave players a misleading understanding of the probabilities. The company disputed the interpretation of its wording, saying that its description indicated differing rather than equal odds.
