Masimo patent-infringement litigation
Masimo sued Nellcor over alleged infringement of several pulse-oximetry patents. A jury initially found for Masimo. Nellcor's later counterclaim against Masimo did not result in a finding of infringement, and appellate proceedings produced a mixed ruling and remand. The dispute ultimately led to royalty payments on affected products and was resolved through a 2011 royalty arrangement.
