Exposure of un-erased NCIX database servers
After NCIX's bankruptcy, servers reportedly connected to the company were offered for sale with personal information still present. Reported material included customer records dating back roughly 15 years and employee information such as social insurance numbers. The discovery triggered RCMP and British Columbia privacy investigations, seizure of the servers, and a lawsuit against NCIX and the auctioneer by software engineer Kipling Warner.
