Bataan Nuclear Power Plant contracting controversy
The Marcos administration selected Westinghouse for the Bataan nuclear project despite a competing proposal from General Electric and objections concerning the limited technical detail in the initial Westinghouse offer. The project's estimated cost later increased substantially, and the completed plant never entered commercial operation.
