Supplier linked to alleged caporalato and forced labor
An investigation into tomato harvesting in Nardò, Apulia, linked a supplier in the broader tomato chain to alleged illegal labor recruitment and forced labor. Reports stated that tomatoes from the agricultural business had reached processors including Mutti’s Fiordagosto operation. Mutti said it had stopped commercial relations with the supplier in 2015 and emphasized its efforts to improve ethical sourcing, traceability and labor standards.
