Computer-intrusion case involving Vinado's website
Chief executive Pradyumna Samal and project manager Sandeep Verma pleaded guilty to several computer-intrusion counts after Minecode employees intentionally disabled the website of Vinado, an online wine shop that had allegedly failed to pay its bills. Minecode was sentenced to three years of probation, a $144,000 fine, and $120,000 in restitution. Samal received home confinement, probation, community service, and mandated therapy; Verma received a fine and probation.
