ViewNow licensing dispute
Micro Focus alleged that the New South Wales Police Force and other public agencies had installed more copies of its ViewNow software than their licenses permitted. The agencies disputed the interpretation of their licensing rights, including whether a site license allowed unlimited installations. The dispute proceeded through litigation and an audit before being settled out of court in 2012 for undisclosed amounts.
