Mismanagement and intergroup lending failures
External auditors identified serious mismanagement at MBB and within the Meridien-BIAO network. The parent group had used large intergroup loans to finance investments without a clear repayment mechanism, and MBB collapsed after the parent failed to repay a large loan.
