Unfulfilled orders, unpaid staff, and collapse
Former employees and later historians described a pattern in which Marvelmania accepted customer payments but often failed to produce or ship the ordered merchandise. Accounts also describe unpaid or underpaid staff, unpaid printers and other creditors, and disputed handling of original artwork. The operator reportedly disappeared as creditors and authorities closed in, after which Marvel announced the club's disbandment.
