Investigation into stolen and illegal goods
The Dutch current-affairs program Netwerk broadcast a report examining the use of Marktplaats for fencing stolen property and offering illicit goods. The issue highlighted the moderation and trust risks of an open classifieds platform. Marktplaats subsequently continued developing moderation processes and cooperation with law enforcement.
