International bribery investigation
Munich prosecutors uncovered allegations that MAN used bribes or improper payments through business partners and intermediaries in more than 20 countries between 2001 and 2007 to obtain truck and bus orders. Chief executive Håkan Samuelsson and other board members resigned or left their positions. A separate case later concerned a former manager accused of bribing Turkmen state officials in connection with contracts.
