Juan Severino Mallari murders
Juan Severino Mallari served as parish priest in Magalang from 1816 to 1826 and was later identified in historical accounts as the first recorded Filipino serial killer. He was reported to have killed at least 57 people. The episode is part of the municipality's documented history but is not a municipal institutional scandal.
