Müller controversies

Alleged animal abuse at supplying dairy farms

In September 2024, undercover footage published by animal-welfare activists appeared to show workers hitting, kicking and otherwise mistreating cows at farms supplying Müller and other retailers. Müller described the behavior as upsetting and unacceptable, said it did not represent the welfare standards required of its suppliers, and referred to supplier assurance and monitoring processes. The controversy created reputational risk by linking the consumer brand’s animal-welfare expectations with alleged conduct within its agricultural supply chain.
