Alcaparrosa aquifer damage and sinkhole
Development at the Alcaparrosa copper mine in Chile, controlled through Minera Ojos del Salado, was linked to a hydraulic connection with a local aquifer and the appearance of a large sinkhole. In 2025 an environmental court ordered the mine's closure.

Candelaria pit-wall collapse disclosure litigation
