Privacy complaint involving Torch Concepts
The Electronic Privacy Information Center filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission alleging that Acxiom and JetBlue supplied consumer information to Torch Concepts for research related to military-base security without adequate notice or consent. The FTC did not take action against Acxiom, which said its conduct followed its privacy principles and applicable policies.

Large-scale theft of Acxiom-related records
More than 1.6 billion records associated with the transmission of information to and from Acxiom clients were reported stolen. The related criminal investigation resulted in lengthy prison sentences for two primary hackers. Authorities said there was no identified risk of identity theft or individual harm from the incident and praised Acxiom for cooperating with investigators.
