Use of LIRO in Nazi looting of Dutch Jewish property
A separate Sarphatistraat branch operating under the Lippmann, Rosenthal & Co. name was used during the German occupation to confiscate Jewish bank accounts, art, jewelry, and other possessions. Property was sold or transferred, with proceeds used for occupation purposes and important artworks sent to Germany.
