Milo Yiannopoulos Person of the Year controversy

A reader poll selected Milo Yiannopoulos as LGBTQ Nation’s 2016 Person of the Year after supporters promoted the vote on Reddit and 4chan and Breitbart News reported on it. The nomination and the publication’s interview with Yiannopoulos drew criticism from readers. At Yiannopoulos’s request, editors also removed a reference identifying him as “alt right,” intensifying debate over the outlet’s editorial judgment.
