AgustaWestland and alleged Indian helicopter corruption investigation
Italian prosecutors investigated alleged corruption and improper payments linked to a contract for VVIP helicopters supplied to India by AgustaWestland. Giuseppe Orsi, then chairman and chief executive of Finmeccanica, resigned after his arrest. The case generated substantial governance and reputational scrutiny; Orsi was later acquitted in the main Italian criminal proceedings.
