Air Pirates and Disney copyright litigation
Last Gasp was credited in connection with Air Pirates publications that parodied Disney characters. Disney included Ron Turner in its lawsuit against the collective; Turner settled quickly, while several of the cartoonists continued contesting the case for years. The episode became an early example of the legal friction between underground parody and established intellectual-property rights.
