Lakeland Networks

Lakeland Networks is a local provider of fibre internet, TV, and home phone services across Muskoka, Parry Sound and beyond. It also offers business services including fibre internet, phone, hosted PBX, TV, managed Wi-Fi, and local support. The company emphasizes local presence with over 100 employees living in the area.

Lakeland Networks originated from Lakeland Energy Ltd., founded in 2000 to handle maintenance and repair of streetlights and water heater rentals. In the early 2000s, it completed electrical engineering projects. Around 2008, it provided dark fibre to the local school board and later fibre service to provincial sites. In 2010, Lakeland Energy created a separate division, Lakeland Networks, which provided high speed internet, phone, IT hosting and consulting to businesses. Around 2013, it started providing high speed fibre internet and phone to residential customers, starting in Bracebridge.
