Dongguan factory labor controversy

The National Labor Committee alleged that KYE's Dongguan factory subjected workers, including students aged 16 to 18, to excessive shifts, overtime, low pay and overcrowded conditions while producing goods for Microsoft. KYE disputed the report's characterization and said its wages followed Chinese regulations. Chinese officials later identified failures to register nearly 326 workers aged 16 to 18 and excessive collective overtime, ordering corrective measures. Microsoft said it had begun remedial action under its supplier standards.
