Children's privacy and COPPA complaint
The Federal Trade Commission alleged that WW International and Kurbo collected personal information from children without obtaining the parental consent required by COPPA. The resulting order required deletion of information collected from children under 13, destruction of algorithms created from that data, and payment of a $1.5 million penalty.
