The FCC fined KPNZ $9,000 after determining that the station had repeatedly failed to maintain operational Emergency Alert System equipment and required logs.
2005
Embezzlement-related arrests involving station personnel
KPNZ's human resources director and accounting manager was fired over alleged embezzlement and later faced numerous theft, fraud, and forgery counts. The station's general manager and traffic manager were also arrested; the general manager's charges were dropped and the traffic manager's charges were dismissed. The accounting manager later settled.
