Report alleges Huawei could eavesdrop on KPN network

    Issue disclosure

In 2021, a report based on a 2010 risk-assessment report commissioned by KPN alleged that Huawei had the ability to eavesdrop on numbers in the Dutch KPN network. Huawei denied unauthorized access to KPN's network or data and said it had worked under KPN's explicit authorization. The allegation was drawn from the earlier risk assessment, and the company's response rejected any suggestion of unauthorized access.
