Dispute over station sale and spectrum strategy
The proposed transfer of KCSM-TV became the subject of competing claims. LocusPoint Networks accused district officials of failing to facilitate the sale and spectrum-auction process, while the district counterclaimed over LocusPoint's alleged failure to place the station into the 2016 auction. LocusPoint also sought to block the subsequent KRCB transaction.

FCC indecency-related forfeiture
The FCC fined KCSM-TV $15,000 after an installment of The Blues: Godfathers and Sons included repeated profanity during a period when children could be watching. KCSM appealed the decision and subsequently increased editorial screening of programming for potentially indecent material.
