MPlayer GPL firmware controversy
The MPlayer project alleged that Kiss Technology's DVD-player firmware included parts of MPlayer code licensed under the GNU General Public License, while Kiss had not released its firmware under the GPL. Managing director Peter Wilmar Christensen rejected the allegation and claimed that MPlayer had used code taken from Kiss firmware. The release chronology cited in the reference account did not support Kiss's explanation.
