California acrylamide case
California authorities alleged that Kettle’s potato chips had not adequately documented high acrylamide levels under Proposition 65 requirements. Kettle settled, paid penalties and costs, and agreed to reduce acrylamide levels.

Norwich union-avoidance allegations
Campaigners alleged that Kettle Foods sought to dissuade Norwich factory workers from joining Unite. The company denied the allegation but acknowledged using advice from Omega Training, a union-avoidance specialist.
