KPE and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defense were involved in a widely discussed dispute concerning the value of local production, compliance with testing and procurement procedures, comparisons with foreign alternatives, and accusations that the company had not fulfilled a state defense contract. Reported use of KPE vehicles in foreign and domestic security operations
KPE-associated armored vehicles were reported in combat operations around Mariupol and in the government response to unrest in Almaty. KPE said its only Russian delivery was a 2019 test shipment to the Russian National Guard in an unarmed basic configuration.
