Pricing of essential goods during the COVID-19 period
Sri Lanka’s Consumer Affairs Authority raided Kapruka.com after alleging that some essential products were sold above government-set maximum retail prices. Dulith Herath apologized, attributed the discrepancies to pricing errors, and said controls would be strengthened. Kapruka reportedly refunded approximately LKR 1.5 million to affected customers.
