Smart locks fail sampling tests, can be unlocked with fake fingerprints

In a 2021 Shanghai sampling inspection, the Kaadas V5 smart fingerprint lock failed anti-interference (electrostatic discharge) and flame-retardant tests; in 2019 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei consumer association tests found that the Kaadas 5005 IC card could be cracked and copied, and the 5155Alock could be unlocked with a fake fingerprint. During its IPO it also faced "fake foreign brand" controversy and numerous after-sales complaints. The company said the models involved had been discontinued and recalled.
