Rana Plaza supply-chain disaster
The Rana Plaza building collapse in Bangladesh killed at least 1,127 people and injured more than 2,400. One of the factories in the building produced garments for Joe Fresh. Loblaw created a reported $3 million compensation trust and introduced additional oversight measures. A later class-action lawsuit sought damages and alleged that Loblaw knew of unsafe conditions.
