Controversy over foreign television staff
Indosiar’s initial plan to employ around 150 foreign workers from its TVB cooperation drew criticism over cultural influence, local employment, and possible regulatory concerns. Management reduced the number substantially before launch and continued replacing expatriate roles through local training.
Criticism of low-quality drama and FTV production
Some viewers and commentators criticized parts of Indosiar’s later drama output for repetitive stories, weak visual effects, and historical inaccuracies. The criticism coincided with declining audience performance in the late 2000s.
