Criticism over Myanmar port operations
Burma Campaign UK placed Hutchison-linked operations in Myanmar on its criticism list. The organization argued that the company's involvement in trade through Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa could help sustain international commerce connected to the military government. The criticism focused on the political and human-rights implications of foreign investment rather than an established legal finding against Hutchison Whampoa.
