FAW is recalling 7,873 EH7 vehicles and 4,035 Tiangong 08 vehicles. Status: official recall. Entities involved: China FAW Group Co., Ltd. and China FAW Corporation Limited.

  2. 2026

Former FAW Chairman Xu Liuping Under Investigation

On May 23, 2026, Xu Liuping, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and former chairman of FAW Group, was announced to be suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was placed under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission. Xu Liuping served as chairman and party secretary of FAW Group from 2017 to 2023, during which he concentrated resources on promoting the revival of the Hongqi brand and was known for a high-profile, iron-fisted style. The fall of the main figure behind the Hongqi brand revival has drawn attention to FAW's previous management and investment decisions.

  3. 2015

Former FAW Chairman Xu Jianyi Falls

In March 2015, Xu Jianyi, chairman of China FAW, was investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, after several senior executives of FAW Group had successively fallen over corruption. Xu Ping subsequently succeeded him as FAW chairman. In February 2017, the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court sentenced him to 11 years and six months in prison for bribery (accepting bribes of about 12.19 million yuan); corruption problems in the FAW system were exposed in concentrated form.
