    Amesys and Libya surveillance controversy

Amesys, a Bull subsidiary, faced international criticism after reports said that its Eagle internet-monitoring technology had been sold to the government of Muammar Gaddafi in 2007 and used to monitor citizens and foreign journalists. Reporters Without Borders identified Amesys as a company associated with enabling online repression, while a French judicial inquiry followed allegations concerning possible complicity in torture.
