Ukraine designates Auchan an international sponsor of war
Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention placed Auchan on its International Sponsors of War list, alleging that the Russian subsidiary contributed goods and support connected with military mobilization and the Russian war effort. Investigations cited collections and supplies presented as humanitarian assistance but allegedly directed toward military personnel. Auchan disputed the allegations and stated that its Russian business operated independently and complied with applicable sanctions.

The “Auchan dégage,” or “Leave Auchan,” movement emerged in Senegal in opposition to the expansion of the French retailer.
