    Glico-Morinaga extortion and poisoning-threat case

In 1984, Glico president Katsuhisa Ezaki was kidnapped and the company was subjected to ransom demands, threats involving allegedly poisoned confectionery, and arson. The group calling itself the Monster with 21 Faces later targeted Morinaga and other Japanese food companies. The case remained unsolved and became one of Japan’s most prominent unresolved criminal investigations.
