  1. 2012

Regulated phase-down of supplies to competitors

A later regulatory decision permitted staged reductions in ETA movement deliveries and in products supplied by sister company Nivarox. The matter highlighted ETA's near-dominant role in Swiss movement manufacturing and encouraged competitors to build alternative capacity.

  2. 2005

    Finding concerning external ébauche deliveries

The Swiss regulator determined that ETA could not immediately stop supplying certain lower-priced ébauches because alternatives were limited. It required continued deliveries at then-current levels before allowing a gradual reduction.

  3. 2003

Swiss competition investigation into movement supply

ETA faced a Swiss Competition Commission investigation after its parent group announced plans to stop supplying ébauches to companies outside Swatch Group. Competitors argued that ETA's market position made the proposed withdrawal potentially damaging to competition and to smaller watch manufacturers.
