NBC Heroes garbage-disposal lawsuit
Emerson sued NBC over a scene in the pilot episode of Heroes showing a character seriously injured while reaching into a garbage disposal. Emerson argued that the depiction could damage the reputation of its disposer products. The parties reached an out-of-court settlement, and the case was dropped in February 2007.
