Death of dolphin Sharky
Bottlenose dolphin Sharky, also known as Natasha, died after colliding with another dolphin during an aerial movement signaled by park staff. The reported cause was a traumatic cervical vertebral fracture. A park representative characterized the event as random and said the surviving dolphin was being monitored by veterinarians. PETA criticized captive dolphin performance and animal-welfare practices.
