Dispute over the preservation of Borneo Literature Bureau books
DBP faced renewed discussion over allegations that books formerly published or held by the Borneo Literature Bureau had been burned after DBP assumed related functions. DBP denied that the books were destroyed by burning and stated that all 1,077 BLB books remained preserved in storage. The Sarawak branch separately maintained that more than 1,000 books were preserved and accessible to the public.
