Research and local testing in Osaka identified elevated PFAS levels in groundwater and waterways near Daikin’s Yodogawa-area operations. Daikin had previously stated that it suspended production of PFAS-based water repellents in 2012 and later retracted a disputed comment about treated wastewater.
