Litigation over alleged inadequate correctional care
Reporting described more than 1,300 lawsuits involving Correct Care Solutions and Wellpath, with allegations ranging from inadequate care and medical errors to claims involving vulnerable patients and conditions in custody. A separate public-interest review reportedly identified at least 1,395 lawsuits involving Wellpath and predecessor companies. The number represents filed matters and allegations, not a determination that the company was liable in every case.

Reeves County medical-contract bribery allegations involving predecessor entities
A federal indictment alleged that Texas state senator Carlos Uresti and former Reeves County administrator Jimmy Galindo were involved in a bribery and money-laundering scheme related to a medical-services contract at the GEO Group-operated Reeves County Detention Complex. The indictment discussed payments to Uresti by Physicians Network Associates and successor businesses, which were later connected through corporate acquisitions to companies that became part of Wellpath. The allegations concerned the individuals and predecessor entities and should not be treated as a finding against every Wellpath operation.
Healthcare controversies in immigration detention
Investigations and lawsuits have scrutinized healthcare at immigration-detention facilities where Wellpath or predecessor organizations provided services. Reported concerns included deaths, serious avoidable outcomes, pregnancy-related care, and alleged failures in access or treatment. The issues have drawn attention because detained patients generally cannot select an alternative provider.
