Price-monitoring competition-law case
The Norwegian Competition Authority found that Coop, NorgesGruppen and Rema 1000 had infringed competition law through coordinated price-monitoring practices. Coop was assigned a NOK 1.3 billion fine within a combined penalty of NOK 4.9 billion. The case became one of the most consequential regulatory controversies in Norway's grocery sector.
