Dispute over same-sex marriage policy
CBAC's bylaw defines marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman and bars accredited clergy from officiating at same-sex marriages. The policy led to disagreement with some congregations and contributed to First Baptist Church in Halifax leaving the association after its minister officiated at a same-sex marriage and resigned CBAC accreditation.
