Tiger attraction proposal withdrawn after protest
A proposal to introduce a tiger attraction drew sustained opposition from Voices for Animals and a petition signed by several thousand park patrons. The proposal was withdrawn later in the season.
1997
Gary Harris tax-evasion conviction and ownership dispute
Gary Harris, who had acquired and reopened the park, was convicted of tax evasion. A subsequent dispute over a claimed 99-year lease and ownership of several rides led to litigation, which he lost in 2001.
